General Information for 2008 Cheerleading

2008 REGISTRATION is Saturday, March 29, 10:00AM until 2:00PM, however registration will be available on-line at www.dacula.com until Sunday, April 13th at 12:00 midnight.  Credit Cards will be accepted during on-line registration only.  If you are unable to pay by credit card, you must come to the walk up registration on March 29th at Dacula High School. That is the only time we will accept checks for registration.

REGISTRATION COST is $225.00 (includes $125 registration and $100 Spirit Fee). 

Registration includes:  GFL/DAA insurance, GFL membership and assessments, Cheer Camp, Stunt Clinic, Trophy, Roster Shirt (or % of fleece jacket TBD), Campwear short/shirt, 2 hair ribbons.

Spirit fee is a one-time fee that covers banquet, gifts, pep rallies, banner supplies, and additional items selected by the squad for Cheerleaders. You will not be asked to contribute any money during the season to cover any additional cost for Cheerleaders.

Each cheerleader is responsible for a fundraising activity. The fundraiser will be a candy sale. The cost will be $50 and you will be able to sell the items and recoup the $50 cost. The fundraiser will be available for pick up at Fittings on Tuesday 4/22 and Thursday 4/24 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Dacula High School. The $50 payment is required at registration.  You may choose to opt out of the fundraiser with a donation of $25.

Fitting Dates: Tuesday, April 22nd and Thursday, April 24th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Dacula High School. THIS IS MANDATORY to come to one of the fittings. This is when the Cheerleader will be fitted for campwear, uniform, etc. If the Cheerleader does not attend fittings, then it will be assumed that the Cheerleader will not be cheering and will not be placed on a team.

Additional Cost: 

Uniforms: NEW FOR 2008. ALL CHEERLEADERS MUST PURCHASE A NEW UNIFORM FOR FALL 2008.  The cost is $150 and everyone MUST purchase a uniform which includes shell, skirt and bodyliner.

Windsuit: NO windsuit this year. Previous year windsuit has been discontinued. More information on a replacement at later date

Bloomers: $7 each.

Socks: $6 each

Poms: New for 2008. Cost $27 .

Cheer Bags: The same bags as 2007, however if you do not have a bag or wish to replace your 2007 bag, then it will be available for purchase at a cost of $10.

Hair Ribbons: 1 set (2 ribbons) is included with registration…additional ribbons ordered $4.

GFL Cheer-Off: Dacula participation is still under consideration, however Dacula 6th - 8th may participate again this year in GFL's Cheer-Off. If so, then an additional $15 will be collected to cover Cheer-Off cost.

Some additional information:

8th Grade will be cheering 2 games per week (Tuesday and Saturday). For all teams, practices are 2 to 3 times per week. Some middle school teams will practice after school.  Other teams will practice in the evening.  Times are 1 ½ to 2 hours per practice.
