Dacula Athletic Association's Football Cheer Program

Welcome to DAA Football Cheerleading!

The primary role for Dacula Cheerleading is to provide support for DAA athletes.  This support is generated by boosting parent and community spirit, motivating teams and crowds at sporting events, and serving as an enthusiastic role model throughout the community.  As a secondary component we believe that competition builds character, develops leadership skills, and promotes confidence within our cheerleading squads.  It is these two roles that will allow our cheerleaders to improve their skills, develop exercise habits, and build life-long friendships.

Dacula Cheer is a member association of GFL Sports, Inc. (Gwinnett Football League).  The Dacula Cheer Board supports and actively participates in the GFL and adheres to all rules set forth by this governing body. All dates and schedules are established by the GFL. Although every effort is made, schedules are usually not complete until Jamboree week.

2019 Cheer Registration continues online until June 1st.  Our next Walk-Up Registration and Fitting will take place on May 18th at the Dacula Masonic Lodge from 10 - 2 PM.

The Gwinnett Youth and Senior Citizen Scholarship Fund was created by Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation in 2001 to assure that all children and senior citizens have the opportunity to participate in recreational and athletic activities in Gwinnett County. Gwinnett's youth and senior citizens who cannot afford to attend summer camps, swim lessons, and recreational classes can now do so thanks to funds raised through the Gwinnett Parks Foundation Corporate Challenge and partnerships with other groups, companies and organizations.

Thanks to Gwinnett's business leaders and the Gwinnett Parks Foundation, now everyone has an opportunity to experience all the wonderful programs Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation has to offer. This fund has helped hundreds of Gwinnett County youth and seniors experience summer camps, recreational activities, and sport offerings.

To apply for the scholarship, please print the appropriate scholarship application form and follow the directions listed on the form. Scholarships are limited and funds do run out quickly so apply early!

Become An Official GFL Rep!

Please consider helping our park run smoothly by becoming an official GFL Representative.  You will be rewarded with FREE entry into games for the season, a complimentary meal from our concession stand before or after your shift, an official GFL rep t-shirt, Free entry into the GFL Cheer-Off competition before or after your shift, and the appreciation of our football and cheer programs.

There is very minimal training required which will be provided by DAA. The more volunteers we have, the fewer shifts each person will be asked to volunteer.  Please email the Cheer Board at [email protected] for more information.

Thank you!!!

Parental Duties

In order for our football games to run smoothly, it takes cooperation from all parents from football and cheer.  The football and cheer programs are responsible for the concession stand, EMT, Peace Officer and the referees on our field.  In order for us to have those services, we have to charge an admission fee at the gate.  We need help from all parents and coaches to make this possible.

Each team is required to work one 2 hour shift on game days when our park is open.  Parents will not work a shift during which their squad is cheering on the field.  If we have enough volunteer participation, most people only have one shift of gate duty for the season.  By registering your child for this program, you are acknowledging this expectation.
